2026 Spring Music Appreciation Series

All sessions are held on Mondays at the Stoughton Opera House and are free and open to the public. Donations are accepted. All performances start at 3:00 PM.

(Canceled due to weather) March 16: The Yahara Strummers
We start out the Spring Season with a return engagement of Stoughton's own ukulele ensemble that was founded a few years ago and rehearses at the Stoughton Area Senior Center. Come and hear these musicians share many old favorite tunes.

March 23: Evan Jenson, Tuba soloist
We hear the Tuba in bands and orchestras but rarely do we hear the Tuba as a solo instrument. SHS graduate Evan Jensen who is a Masters of Music student at the UW will perform for us.

March 30: The Galaxy String Quartet |These professional musicians have performed throughout the Midwest and will share some great music for the String Quartet.

April 6: Eric Tran, Piano
Eric has had a number of really accomplished and very informative presentations for our series. He returns to share some of his own compositions, transcriptions and musical information with us.

April 13: Stoughton High School State Solo and Ensemble Qualifiers
These talented SHS student musicians will be participating in the WSMA State Music Festival and will perform the music that they played to qualify them for this prestigious event

April 20: UW-Madison Faculty; Lindsey Flowers, Oboe and Eleni Katz, Bassoon
We hear these double reed instruments in the orchestra all the time but seldom do we have an opportunity to hear them as solo instruments. Lindsay and Eleni are on the Music Faculty of the UW-Madison, and they will offer us the chance to listen to the oboe and bassoon as solo instruments.

April 27: The Avanti Piano Trio
The Avanti Piano Trio (Violin, Cello, Piano) has provided us with stellar performances in.the past and will return to again share some of the great Piano Trio repertoire
